Auctions a success!

Congratulations to the auction winners who received a great price for a custom designed website. Winners from the Falmouth Education Foundation helped that organization raise more than $50,000 to help the schools, sports, and activities for children in Falmouth, Maine. The winners of the website design on the Maine Cancer Foundation auction helped raise over $24,000. From Flying Change Webs & Graphics, I thank you for support our local organizations and look forward to building your new website.

Flying Change Webs & Graphics has donated a custom website design to two (2) local non-profit organizations. The first is the Falmouth Education Foundation, who holds their annual Fall Ball on October 4, 2008. Last year were able to give nearly $80,000 in grants. Back To School

Starting back to school in New England always seems to symbolize the change of season. I believe this feeling of change ripples through the small business community in Maine and many have come to Flying Change Webs & Graphics for a new website or to redesign their existing site. Will you be next?

Raising Maine Magazine

A recent article I wrote, giving tips on working at home while raising a family, will be featured in Raising Maine Magazine September Issue. The online company RaisingMaine.com has also asked me to become a feature blogger on their website, designed to give Moms in Maine a place to share and network. The blog is entitled "Notes from the Home Office" and will offer my insight on running a home office and business from home.

Summer Vacation?

It may be summer vacation for the kids, but it appears to be a hot, busy summer in website design! Small businesses around New England are realizing the value of a custom designed website. Along with the new websites that are due to launch this month, there are just as many starting up to launch in August. Thank goodness for mobile technology so that I can work on the road and spend time with the kids at the family camp!

'Round the World & Back Again

One of the very first websites I designed back in 2000 was for an Chiltern American Women's Club in England. Although I repatriated in late 2003, I occasionally check back with them to see what's new. I wrote the original text, much of which has stayed the same. My most recent contact resulted in the club inquiring in - and then switching to - my hosting and domain service. Funny how the wheel keeps turning ... and it can't slow down!

What do horses & Landscaping have in common?

The answer is a new website! My daughter competes in the equestrian sport of Eventing and this is the time of year when show season begins in New England. How appropriate that during the month of May I'll be working on at least 4 horse-related websites. As show hosts are preparing their farms for their shows, they are sprucing up their websites to post the latest results.

At this time of year, landscapers are preparing to bring your yard back to life. They want their websites to reflect that same rejuvenation for the coming season.

Are you ready to bring your website back to life too?

Helping local Small Businesses in Maine

This month I came had a unique situation, allowing me to fully support my philosophy of helping small businesses in Maine and throughout New England. Toddy Brook Golf Course had experienced some trouble with their previous website design and hosting company and needed to get their web presence back ... and FAST! Within 24 hours, we were able to work together to put a beautiful new placeholder page on the web and get Toddy Brook Golf re-registered with the major search engines. Watch the progress of the new Toddy Brook Golf new website on my blogspot, the the official launch due to take place by May 1, 2008.

This website will be maintained by Flying Change Webs & Graphics and provide information for parents and coaches during the 2008 baseball season.

Flying Change Webs & Graphics will also be working with the Falmouth Education Foundation to bring their current website up-to-date and keep it that way! Follow along in the coming months as it takes shape.

Within 24 hours of it's launch, the organizations' president was inundated with praise and already had inquiries into open volunteer positions. See it featured on the website design before & after page.
